It's mid-Summer in Eugene and the weather could not be better. The local markets are buzzing with activity and their are many wonderful music events and festivals taking place. If you don't live here already, you may want to consider a move. Real estate in Eugene is very appealing at this time. There is a wide selection of properties to choose from. The area has enjoyed only minor setbacks in sales. Whether you are looking to retire, moving to a newer home or simply to making an investment, Eugene is a great place to consider in the current real estate market.

In hindsite, August was maybe not the right time to buy. Prices are even lower now. I am looking around now and will jump on anything that looks reasonable, even though I know it might go down another 5-10%. By reasonable, I mean around $260-270K for a 3bdr/2bath 1900 square foot home in the South Hills (ranging from southwest to southeast). Granted, there are not many of these around now, as most owners are still stubbornly clinging to the idea that their house is still worth $335K. But these good deals do pop up from time to time.
